JCMH – committed to the provision of the highest standard quality patient care
James Connolly Memorial Hospital, which is managed by the Northern Area Health Board, is one of three designated hospitals in North Dublin, Ireland, providing acute hospital services. JCMH provides an acute service for a population of 254,000 in the catchment areas of Dublin Northwest, North Kildare, and South County Meath. A wide range of diagnostic and paramedical services are available for inpatients and outpatients. 17% of admissions to JCMH are non-nationals and are from countries such as Bosnia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and North Africa. There is approximately 217 non-national staff in JCMH from countries such as Philippines, India, America, Australia, Sudan, Africa, Jordan, Malaysia and Pakistan. Hospital Activity - A total of 9,031 admissions to JCMH in 2001, admissions have increased by 9.5% and Outpatients activity increased by over 8%, similar increases were experienced in the Day Surgery and the Medical Day Unit. JCMH is currently undergoing a Hospital Capital Development Programme. The programme is progressing well and the planned completion date is still on target for the end of January 2003 and the project remains within the budget of €96.3 million. Levels 1(Dept. of Psychiatry) and 2 (Coronary Care and Cardiology) will be handed over from the builder in November 2002.
